Giulianna Misasi
Voice Faculty
Hi! My name is Giulianna, and I’m so excited to be part of the Houston Voice Studio faculty! As a singer, educator, and mentor, I am passionate about helping students unlock their full vocal and artistic potential. I believe that singers are storytellers, and my goal is to guide each student in developing the technical skills and confidence to express themselves authentically and purposefully.
My teaching focuses on building a strong and versatile vocal foundation through balanced techniques. Key elements such as breath management, registration balance, resonance, and articulation are at the core of my approach. I believe that a well-rounded vocal technique allows singers to explore their artistry with freedom, whether they’re singing classical repertoire, musical theater, pop, or original music.
With over 12 years of teaching experience, I have worked with singers across multiple genres and levels, from beginners to advanced performers. I love helping students navigate the technical demands of their chosen style while also fostering a deep emotional connection to their music. Whether a student is preparing for an audition, working toward a performance, or simply seeking personal growth as a vocalist, my goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where they can develop confidence and artistic expression.
My approach to teaching is rooted in evidence-based practices that prioritize physical awareness and vocal efficiency. I emphasize kinesthetic learning—helping students develop body awareness to support their technique. Lessons are tailored to each student’s specific goals, strengths, artistic instincts, and areas for growth. I also love incorporating storytelling and interpretation into lessons, ensuring that every student can bring their unique artistry to their performances.
As a performer, I have had the privilege of singing across the U.S., Canada, and Europe in operas, concerts, and recitals. Some of my favorite roles include Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Lady Billows in Albert Herring, and Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte. Most recently, I made my Houston debut as the Nurse in Breath of Life with Lone Star Lyric. Performing has been a cornerstone of my artistic journey, and I love bringing real-world insights into my teaching to help students bridge the gap between technique and performance.
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Western University and Artist Diplomas in Voice Performance from both Western University and The Royal Conservatory of Music’s Glenn Gould School. My academic training has given me a deep understanding of vocal technique, repertoire, and performance practice, which I bring into my teaching.
When I’m not teaching or performing, you’ll find me exploring the city, dancing, cooking, or spending time with friends and family. I also love long video calls with loved ones far away! Music has been a lifelong passion for me, and I feel incredibly fortunate to share that passion with my students. Helping others discover the joy and power of their voice is one of the most rewarding parts of my career, and I’m thrilled to support each singer’s journey.
